Autumn 2007 : Its been a pretty soggy time for some of us this summer, here's hoping for a mellow autumn watching your youngstock grow up, preparing for the winter. New housing may be in order, especially for new birds joining your flock.
With extra mouths to feed maybe you need to add some equipment. Protect your precious new birds with our Electric netting. As the nights draw in, curl up with a new book or video .
Most of all enjoy your birds and other animals - its a great hobby
Here at Kintaline Plant and Poultry Centre we have very full days with our birds and plants outside, students, guests and customers visiting the farm.
Please email with your daytime and evening telephone numbers if you are having difficulties getting hold of us by phone. We will return your call as soon as we can.
Bird flu Suffolk / Norfolk Nov 2007 - H5N1 - Clearly this situation is serious and will result in domestic poultry keepers having to keep their birds shut in, within the Restricted zones, for an unknown period of time. For the most up to date information keep looking at the DEFRA website If you are needing an urgent delivery of equipment or housing or covered runs please phone or email Jill. We will do our very best to help you. Some ideas to keep your birds safe at this time are here : Avian Influenza [Bird flu]

THE GARDEN AT KINTALINE
The garden at Kintaline was no more than a bit of field when we bought the farm. It will never have the priority of our time that other parts of the farm have - nor that I would like to give it - but we are getting there. the garden in our first summer

2000 - MAYBE WE WILL GET SOME VEGETABLES THIS YEAR

Daffodils
Spring colour 2000

Meconopsis betonifolia

Euphorbia - 2 plants of different colours
now merged together
our rhododendron bed
Part of the Rhododendron bed finally made in May 1999
The latest part of the garden to be completed (well almost). Because the conifers are so mature it took 20 tons of soil and muck to raise the level so we could plant in it. Hopefully by the time the plant have got their roots through to the original level they will be well enough established to compete.
In 5 - 10 years we hope this will be stunning in the spring - each rhody merging into the next showing of their amazing colours. Through the rest of the year the wide variation in leaf form and texture will keep the interest. This is complemented with heathers which will be flowering just about throughout the year. rhododendron bed
